A welding robot is not an entirely new invention, but contrary to the traditional welding robots, the smaller and collaborative robots have gained traction in the welding industry. What sets them apart, is that they are more intuitive and have a smaller financial barrier for smaller and medium-sized businesses.

What does it actually mean that RBCobot is collaborative?

Fundamentally, it means that you can work along side the robot. Contrary to the classic welding robots or the welding industry you can safely stand alongside an RBCobot and prepare the next element - all while the RBCobot efficiently welds.

What is also unique about the robot's safety properties, is that they don't require space for large safety enclosures, because they are simply not necessary.

Because the robot becomes a collaborative partner, which is also easy to program, it is easy to integrate into your existing workflows.

The larger industrial robots on the market requires a dedicated robot operator to program and control the robot. With an RBCobot a professionally trained robot operator is not necessary - actually, all employees in the company can act as a robot operator regardless of education and experience, thanks to RBCobot's user friendliness.

What's in the box?

If you choose the collaborative welding robot RBCobot as your new employee, the following is included in the price:

• Robotic arm from Universal Robots 
• Proprietary software (URCap)
• Welding machines from Böhler (MIG/MAG or TIG in its varying models)
• Hose package from Dinse
• Torch from Dinse
• Welding table from Sigmund

The final price will vary depending on your choice of accessories - please refer to the bottom of the page.

Furthermore, it is possible to purchase additional equipment, such as a turntable,  protective cover etc.

Differences in the models

The size of the robotic arm

There are multiple sizes and varieties of the robotic arm from Universal Robots. By default RBCobots are delivered with UR10e. However, it is also possible to purchase a UR5e, where the reach is smaller than the UR10e.

UR10e has a reach of 1300 mm., while UR5e has a reach of 850 mm. For the majority UR10e is a sound choice, because it provides flexibility in terms of reach.

MIG/MAG or TIG

The price will vary depending on the choice of welding process (MIG/MAG or TIG) which the robot should perform, and subsequently which welding machine is chosen. For both MIG/MAG and TIG-welding multiple options are available in regards to amperage (please refer to the table beneath).

Underneath is a table of prices of the different machines of both MIG/MAG and TIG.

Price overview

The prices for both MIG/MAG and TIG-welding is calculated based on robot arm UR10e, which is the default option with an RBCobot. When welding with MIG or MAG it is possible to choose between 320, 400 and 500 amps, whereas when welding with TIG, 270 or 320 amps are available.

The RBCobot is mounted by default on the welding table, whereas the price will vary depending on the preferences.

An optional turntable for the RBCobot is also available. A turntable is ideal, if you are welding a large quantity of round objects. The price is 70.000 DKK and is the same regardless of which welding robot and process you choose.

In total, a welding robot from Uniwelco costs about 500.000 DKK. This includes a robotic arm (UR10e), proprietary software (URCap), a welding machine from Böhler (MIG/MAG eller TIG), a hose package from Dinse, a welding torch from Dinse and a welding table from Sigmund. Though, we are still able to tailor the order to your specific needs.
